Semiconductor Industry Veteran Chip Stearns Named President and CEO of Stream Processors, Inc.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Dec. 13, 2004 – Stream Processors, Inc. (SPI), a fabless semiconductor company, today announced that semiconductor industry veteran Charles “Chip” Stearns has been named president and CEO. He also joins the company’s Board of Directors. Stearns succeeds SPI founder, professor, Bill Dally, who continues in his role as the company’s Chairman and chief scientist.

"I believe that Chip has the right approach and the experience to help SPI realize its full market potential. He will be a superb leader as we bring our groundbreaking stream processor technology to market."

About Charles “Chip” Stearns
Stearns has more than two decades of executive and senior management experience most recently spending three years as vice president of operations and marketing for HelloSoft, Inc. Prior to HelloSoft, he was president and CEO of picoTurbo, Inc., an embedded processor licensing company that was acquired by ARM Holdings plc. While at picoTurbo, he demonstrated his ability to grow a developing business, build a respected executive team and deliver embedded processors. Before joining picoTurbo, Stearns was the founder and CEO of MediaShower, Inc., and prior to that he was the General Manager for video products at S3 Inc. Stearns also held key management roles in processor development at Vertex Semiconductor and LSI Logic.

Stearns holds 12 technology patents, and has received industry awards for innovative technology development. He has taught numerous professional courses and delivered over a dozen technical and business papers at conferences around the world. He holds a M.S. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
